A new year means it’s about time for a new website. The old site was built off my HTML-circa-2003 skills, so it was long overdue for an overhaul. I can’t believe how much easier technology has made web design. Sorry you had to click on links and back in the galleries before–you can just click through thumbnails now. Things are easier in the new decade! Many thanks to my friend, Shadi, for setting this up.
I’m also making WordPress my default blog now. I’ve imported everything on my Blogger and I’m in the process of closing down my Livejournal. If I can take a moment, I started Livejournal in April of 2001 as an update blog for my webcomic “Strings of Fate”, and as a means of getting to know fellow artists/cartoonists over the internet. Both of those things completely changed my life. Social networking has evolved and it’s time to move on, but I hope I can retain a little piece of that, here. I’ll be posting some “Koko” progress work in the next couple days.
Speaking of “Koko”: Again, I can’t thank everyone enough out there who’s bought a copy, or picked one up at the library for Christmas or otherwise. It means a lot to me. I apologize for being ridiculously awful with emails, but they light up my day, and I’m glad to hear from you. It’s easy to get discouraged by the current state of the publishing/print industry, and particularly what it means for creators hoping to make a living off doing what they love. But as much as I welcome the digital future, the fact that people will still pick up a book is immensely appreciated by people like me. So thanks.
In other “Koko” news, I did an interview for Suicide Girls. Not really NSFW, but it is on the SG server, so…
I’ll lead off with a quick drawing. I watched “Spider Baby” the other night. I was hoping for a little more from the movie (I love Jack Hill!), but I felt compelled to draw this anyway. Happy New Year!
