The next few weeks…

Convention season is here! This weekend I’ll be in Portland, Oregon for Stumptown Comics Fest. I’ll be sharing table D-12 with my buddy Vera Brosgol who’ll be previewing her new book Anya’s Ghost. She’s also making caramels for you. What more do you want? We’ll also have guest appearances by Emily Carroll (so hot right now!). The three of us will be sharing a table at TCAF in a few weeks as well, so if you’re not in Portland this weekend, but will be in Toronto–look out! We’re gonna shut it down.

Two weekends from now, I’ll be at Anaheim Comic Con. You Southern Californians are probably sick of me by now, but if you’re in the area, feel free to stop by my lonesome table on the way to see Tricia Helfer.

In the meantime, here are some art bits. This year marks First Second’s 5th anniversary, and they’re partnering with bookstores for a special promotion. They asked me to do a series of tiny KOKO themed paintings for participating bookstores, so here’re a few I like.

Do you think you’ll be at San Diego Comic Con this year? I would love to have you sign my copy of Koko :) Oh, and I’d just like to say that I entirely identify with what I see as Koko’s “conceptual living”, where she themes her outfits to be things like sexy library aide or bohemian farm girl and morphs her life to fit whatever new theme she’s adhering to, like being good or breaking free.

Your works are very good and nice, its especially nice to see them scanned, but still to be able to feel the ruff paper u are using in some works. it sort of gives nice feeling and some cosines to your drawings,m i think. best of luck with your work!
